The Osmo Action 4 Gets a Large 1/1.3-Inch Sensor

DJI follows up last year’s Osmo Action 3 with the Osmo Action 4 with a significantly larger 1/1.3-inch sensor that appears to be similar to the one used on the new Air 3 drone. For comparison, the Osmo Actio 3 used a 1/1.7-inch sensor, while the Galaxy S20 Ultra came with a 1/1.33-inch sensor.

The Osmo Action 4 has a f/2.8 aperture that can shoot 4K video at 120FPS in 10-bit D-Log M color, and features an “advanced color temperature sensor” that helps it produce true-to-life color tones in all shooting situations–underwater included.

Because of the bigger sensor, the Osmo Action 4 takes a slight dip when it comes to battery life, being only rated for 150 minutes on a single charge (vs 160 minutes by its predecessor). Fast charging still remains, where it only takes 18 minutes to top up the battery from 0 to 18%.

Some of the Osmo Action 4’s features include vertical shooting, magnetic quick release, front and rear LCDs, and an 18-meter waterproof rating (without a case). Some of its shooting functions include voice control, five custom modes, three microphones for better audio, and wind noise reduction software.

The Osmo Action 4 is priced at Php 22,890 for the standard kit and Php 28,890 for the Adventure Combo. The former includes a protective frame, a battery, a quick-release adapter mount, a locking screw, a lens hood, a curved adhesive base, an anti-slip pad, USB-C cable, and logo stickers, while the latter adds two extra batteries, a Multifunctional Battery Case, and a 1.5m extension rod.
