Are pinoys warming up to the online sale format?
While Xiaomi’s online-only sales format has managed to drop the costs of their devices to disappropriate levels compared to its competitors, they’ve had a challenging time trying to convince pinoys to fork over money for their more expensive products through the internet. While the company routinely posts how fast their devices sell out in other countries, they’ve never really done that in the PH, until now.
Xiaomi’s Mi Philippines Facebook post triumphantly says that they’ve managed to sell out their Redmi 1S (and the associated bundles) in less than 8 minutes, which is probably the best result the company has had for their flash sale model in the country. It’s no match for the 42 second sellout time for the Redmi Note in Singapore though. The company also did not mention just how many devices were for sale during today’s sale, but then again, a win is a win, right? Do you think more pinoys are now willing to pay for gadgets online or was the stock for today’s sale limited? Let us know in the comments below.
