We actually had the pleasure of reviewing this crossover SUV earlier this year. The driving dynamics of the vehicle are top-notch and it’s definitely fun to bring along to spirited drives and even trips with the family.

The onboard signature Subaru EyeSight presents an advanced safety suite that’s designed to keep the passengers safely cocooned inside the cabin. It also has other technological goodies like an Idle Start-Stop feature and a Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensor. Despite its obvious utilitarian styling cues, this space is still a fairly nice place to be.

Subaru Forester 2.0 i-S EyeSight CVT

The second unit is another one that we had a special experience with. We endured a supertyphoon with the vehicle, traversing the city with its capable chassis. Its AWD system once again was a treat to use, and much about what we said about the XV’s strengths carry over here. However, it packs more technology than the former.

It has a Driver Monitoring System that scans and recognizes the user’s face when he leaps into the driver’s seat. We sort of felt like Tony Stark when starting the car. Seat, driving position, and climate settings are personalized depending on who’s driving, for up to five users. DMS also recognizes hand gestures for changing climate settings even while driving.

An ace in its class is the EyeSight 4.0 Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS) with Level 2 Automation. EyeSight 4.0 automates certain driving actions with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) so drivers do not need to step on the gas and brake pedals while cruising along expressways. Trips back to the province this holiday season will be a breeze as drivers do not need to constantly watch their speedometer as EyeSight maintains highway legal limits with its “set-it-and-forget” ACC feature. We won’t encourage reckless driving, but check out this little stunt of a driver exiting a Subaru Forester as it coasts along – only for the vehicle to stop itself.
