DITO to Enter Postpaid, Enterprise Markets in June

DITO will be expanding its offerings by June by catering to Postpaid and Enterprise customers. In its presscon last Thursday (April 27), Chief Administrative Officer Adel Tamano told the media that DITO aims to provide cheaper and more reliable alternatives in the postpaid and enterprise market segments.

“We leverage as our partner China Tel, some best phones are being manufactured in China. We will leverage the relationship. Hopefully, we can offer cheap phones to the public for our postpaid push,” Tamano said.

Tamano stated that DITO has earned Php 7.2 billion for its prepaid business alone and aims to increase its profits further by entering the postpaid and enterprise market–leveraging on being able to offer affordable plans.

“There is a lot of technology that we are using to help provide customers value for money. We are expecting that potential clients see us as much more reliable and cheaper,” DITO Chief Technology Officer Rodolfo Santiago said.

For increasing its coverage–which is around 77 to 78%, Tamano adds that they are committed to allot Php 27 billion in capital expenditure (capex). DITO needs to hit 80% coverage on July 8 for its fourth technical audit, so the third telco is close enough to meet the government’s requirements.

DITO has yet to disclose its future plans for 5G connectivity–as of late 2022, DITO has its Flash 5G Home WiFi postpaid plan for those who want to avail of the telco’s 5G services at home.
