A way to showcase the videography capabilities of Huawei’s flagship phones
To showcase the potential of the Mate 30 Pro and Mate 30, Huawei kicked off the Philippine edition of the Huawei Film Awards last February 4 at SM Aura. Featuring short films from Pepe Diokno and Sid Maderazo, a music video from Reese Langsangan, and a documentary from Lyka Gonzalez, all of the videos featured were shot entirely using the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro.
Sharing their experience in utilizing the Mate 30 series’ dedicated 40-megapixel Cine camera, Diokno was impressed that he was able to film scenes for Things the whole day without the need to charge the phone. For Maderazo, the improvement of technologies like the one found on the Mate 30 series is proof that making great films is more attainable than ever. “The high-end cameras obviously have a lot of advantages with big lenses, but I think we’re going in the right direction. Witnessing and using the phone (Mate 30 Pro) for me opens a lot of possibilities,” Maderazo said.
Paired with software features like a dedicated Pro mode—where you can control aperture, shutter speed, and even frame rates—helps creatives have more freedom when shooting videos using mobile phones.
