Unbox is at the Singapore Digital Fashion Week (Whut)
Never in our wildest dreams did we ever think for a second that we would write the headline above on this site, hehe. But yeah, we kid you not, we are here in Singapore to cover their annual Digital Fashion Week. It’s a week of fashion but more importantly digital innovation since they’re doing a lot of world-firsts including giving catwalk live stream viewers the ability to buy the clothes being worn by the models as they walk down the ramp! Awesome right? Anyway, headlining this year’s Singapore Digital Fashion Week is supermodel Naomi Campbell and we got to meet her and a whole lot of other models in their launch press conference.
To those wondering we were invited to come over by Opera (the browser). They’re promoting their stylish iPad web browser app called Coast. Opera happens to be the technology partner of the Digital Fashion Week so we have to give them a hat tip for giving a tech blog a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to cover a fashion week event.
Note from EIC: We’ll do a more comprehensive post about Coast and Opera tomorrow.
Digital Fashion Week Press Conference Photos
Here are a few photos that we took during the press conference. It was a pretty good session as the hosts were both very good in drawing out insights and answers from the different panelists. There was even a discussion on how social media has totally disrupted the fashion industry and how it changed rapidly in the last two-three years. Anyway, here are the pics!
Friday night we’ll be at the actual fashion show and we get to see Naomi Campbell hit the catwalk live. Definitely going to be an interesting evening! Hahaha! Watch out for our updates this weekend!
