Smart Ramps Up SIM Registration Drive Awareness

As we approach near the April 26 SIM Registration deadline, Smart has intensified its call for customers to register their SIMs ASAP to help prevent text scams and mobile phone-aided criminal activities.

For its efforts, Smart unveils its‘Mag-SIM Reg para hindi SIM Dead’ campaign, where it also released a video to remind people to register their SIM card by April 26 to avoid consequences like SIM card deactivation.

A deactivated SIM has many consequences: you cannot send or receive calls or messages, have internet access, and you even lose access to all the apps linked to your mobile number. Having a deactivated SIM also makes you lose access to crucial one-time passwords (OTPs) for secure logins to you banking apps and mobile wallets.

“Our smartphone has become an extension of ourselves, and failing to register our SIM will cut us off from the many technological conveniences that enable us to live more today. This is why we encourage all our customers to register their Smart and TNT SIMs ahead of the April 26 deadline,” Smart Consumer Wireless Business Head Francis Flores said.

To make SIM registration accessible, Smart has spent the past few months rolling out assisted SIM Registration booths at malls nationwide, far-flung municipalities and key remote areas in coordination with the NTC, DILG, DICT, and LGUs.

Smart Prepaid or TNT customers can visit here or log into the GigaLife App to register their SIM, while Postpaid customers, will simply need to confirm the personal information and IDs previously submitted for their postpaid plan application by texting YES to 5858 and wait for the confirmation message from Smart.

On the other hand, if you are Smart Bro subscriber, you can proceed with SIM Registration by accessing your one-time password following these steps: http://www.smart.com.ph/viewbroadbandsms.
