PLDT continues its reign as the fastest broadband provider in the Philippines, as Ookla’s Speedtest Awards for Q1-Q2 2022 gave PLDT a speed score of 77.91, which is almost 9 points ahead of second placer Converge, which got 68.91 points. Rounding up the Speed score rankings is Globe at 3rd place (43.39%) and Sky at 4th place (39).
Looking through the overall download and upload speeds, PLDT emerges on top with top download and upload speeds of 210.83Mbps and 234.21Mbops respectively. When it comes to median latency, however, Converge did better with 4ms latency compared to 7ms for PLDT.
Looking at network speeds per city, PLDT takes the lead in Quezon City, Davao City, and Cagayan de Oro, with the latter showcasing the best performance for PLDT–with download and upload speeds of 84.75Mbps and 84.56Mbps respectively. With this results, PLDT dominated in the Speedest Awards for 2022.
