The unusual smartwatch and TWS earbuds combo called the Watch Buds is made official by Huawei in China, along with other wearables. Of course, the Watch Buds is the most interesting of the bunch because it covers two devices in one.
For the watch side, the Watch Buds has a 1/43-inch circular AMOLED display with a 466×466 display resolution. It is a premium device, as the case is made from stainless steel while the strap is leather and has a 22mm width. Typical of a smartwatch, the Watch Buds has heart rate monitoring, SPo2 tracking, sleep and stress management, ECG readings, and up to 80 workout modes.
Underneath the watch display reveals the Watch Bud’s surprise, which are TWS earbuds that weigh just 4 grams per earbud. The earbuds do come with AI noise cancellation and IP54 rating, and can last for up to 4 hours of music with noise cancelation off. Combined together, the Watch Buds is rated for up to 3 days of use–which is relatively fine since it takes the role of two devices. Typical of any Huawei product, the Watch Buds run HarmonyOS 3 and supports Bluetooth 5.2.
The Watch Buds is priced at CNY 2988(~Php 23.9k) and is available in China. No word yet if Huawei will make it available globally, but we’re really interested to get our hands on one.
