The e-Commerce platform wants to go beyond massive deals

Lazada is set to hold another massive sale this September 9 and decides to offer not just massive deals—at least 9 million deals with discounts of up to 90% off—for this year’s Big Discovery Sale. To make things unique, Lazada Chief Executive Officer Ray Alimurung announced that they will be introducing new features to the eCommerce platform in time for the annual sale.

To kick things off, Lazada will hold pre-sales for select products, where new and loyal Lazada shoppers can get a head start and lock-in their desired purchase by placing a10% non-refundable deposit and paying for the balance within the validity period. The feature initially debuted during the Mid-Year Festival in Malaysia, and Lazada believes that this will help customers secure good deals ahead of the actual sale.

Beyond products, Lazada will debut a bills payment facility, where customers can settle their Meralco, Maynilad, Manila Water, Albay Power & Energy, Davao Light, VECO, Metropolitan Cebu Water and Prime Water bills through the Lazada app. To entice customers, Lazada is offering a Php 300 cashback until November 2019 for those who will pay using the Lazada Wallet.

Factoring in the fact that deliveries may not be an option for some customers (ie. no one can receive the package at home), Lazada will be expanding its list of collection points so that customers can pick up their package at select SM Malls and GrowSari branches at their own preferred time.

Lazada also wants to help consumers tick off items on their wish list, and the eCommerce platform will be offering personal loans (up to Php 50,000) through Lazada-trusted e-financing partners such as BillEase, pera247, and TendoPay. Applicants just need to complete the application process and submit all needed requirements. Once approved, the loan amount will be credited to their Lazada wallet, where they can choose between 1 to 12-month repayment options.

To wrap up its 9.9 new feature offerings, Lazada partnered with helicopter ride-sharing service Ascent for discounted helicopter trips, where customers can purchase digital vouchers during the Big Discovery Sale. Here’s the list of the discounted helicopter trips:

From being an eCommerce site focused on gadgets seven years ago, Lazada has evolved into a one-stop shopping platform where customers can purchase practically anything even enjoy online and offline services on the side.
