Sony Ericsson Xperia Active

Interesting design for a smartphone, don't you think?

Sony Ericsson Xperia Active launched in the Philippines

Sony Ericsson Philippines launched the Xperia Ray and Xperia Active officially in the Philippines last week. We’ve already featured the Xperia Ray so this post will focus on the Xperia Active. What’s so special about the Xperia Active? It’s one of the few phones in the market today that’s made for rugged handling. The design alone already says that this phone is sturdy.

Sturdy design

According to the product site, the Xperia Active is dust proof and water resistant. The screen will also recognize your finger even if it’s wet. That’s a pretty bold statement for any smartphone. Since we don’t have a demo unit yet to actually test this claim we went to Youtube to look for any videos. Fortunately we found a couple like this one:

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Active also comes with cool accessories for athletes. It has decent earphones that have attachable ear hooks. It also comes with an arm case and a wrist strap! Don’t think though that Sony compromised a lot of core features to get all of these extras in the package. The Xperia Active packs Android Gingerbread, 1GHz processor, and a 5MP camera making it a nice all-around smartphone.

How much for all of this? Just Php15,500. Not bad! Looking forward to see how this will do in the Philippines.
