Samsung to Hold Galaxy Unpacked Part 2 on October 20

While the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 are the highlights of this year’s Galaxy Unpacked event, it seems that Samsung has more things to announce, as it confirms part 2 of Galaxy Unpacked on October 20. That is a day before Google will officially unveil the Pixel 6 series.

In its announcement post, you have squares in blue, white, yellow, pink, gray, and white, along with app icons. Judging from the teaser poster, reports say that Galaxy Unpacked Part 2 will involve Samsung officially unveiling its Android 12-based OneUI 4.0, which is currently available in beta for select Galaxy S-series phones. This is plausible, as OPPO recently made ColorOS 12 official a few days ago, and revealed its new major update policy as well.

Another possible event highlight will involve new colors for the Galaxy Z Flip3, as a forum post at the Samsung Smartphone Community reveals that new color options will include Gray, Light Pink, White, Blue, and Yellow. We don’t know if these new colors will be made available globally or exclusive to certain countries.

Possibility of the Galaxy S21 FE coming out during the event is not considered with the latest report, further confusing everyone if the phone is still coming out. While it was initially said that the Galaxy S21 FE was canceled, the latest reports said that Samsung will push through with launching the phone sometime in January 2022, and that the Galaxy S22 series will be delayed. Among the reasons on why the Galaxy S21 FE is facing delays is due to the chip shortage-with reports saying that Samsung will offer it in both Exynos and Snapdragon variants.

The fate of the Galaxy S21 FE remains uncertain, so it’s best to wait for October 20 to see what Samsung will be unveiling.
