You can’t escape Gatcha Games on mobile as it’s probably the biggest genre of games that’s available on both iOS and Android. Because of the sheer number of developers, franchises, and settings that are on tap for both operating systems, it’s hard to find really good ones to sink both time and money into. We’ve scoured the web for the 5 best ones that we’ve found so far and listed it below. Take note that many of the games in this list are very graphically intensive (so much so that we use them to review phones and their hardware capabilities), so keep that in mind when you’re fiddling around the graphic settings. With that said, here it is: our choices for the top 5 gacha games of 2024
Top 5 gacha games of 2024
- Honkai: Star Rail
- Alice Fiction
- Arknights
- Tower of Fantasy
- Genshin Impact
5. Honkai: Star Rail
Oft described as Genshin Impact but in space, Honkai Star Rail is a gorgeous free-to-play game. There’s a lot to like here – character animations look very good, and the turn-based combat is a great change of pace from the usual hack-and-slash fare that we see. It also has faster re-fills so you’re not waiting around long, and even if you’re the cheap type that doesn’t spend much, the stuff you get early on is still viable into the main content.

4. Alice Fiction
Alice Fiction is kind of a weird one as it’s sorta a puzzle game crossed with a turn-based RPG. Attacks are made by tapping panels to create basic attacks, as well as chaining similar 3-color panels for more advanced “crash skills”. There’s a panel limit per turn though, which means you can’t just randomly tap on every single panel you see hoping to land a good attack in, so there’s that. As far as the F2P aspect goes, most of the early heroes are viable and you’ll be able to use those characters deep into the main content.

3. Arknights
Arknights is a unique, tower-defense-oriented game. But unlike other tower-defense games that you can pretty much go through in auto-pilot, Arknights forces players to think of solutions to beat the level. And unlike other, gacha tower-defense games, the developers of Arknights have made it so that you can beat a level with good strategy without having to solely rely on overpowered units.

2. Tower of Fantasy
Tower Of Fantasy is a game that’s a little different than the other ones in this list, simply because the focus of the gameplay is the MMO elements and not the traditional gacha elements that you see on the #1 entry on the list. The gacha elements here are tied to weapons and gear rather than characters. Many players have also described that the gacha system in the game is more generous VS what you typically see.

1. Genshin Impact
The biggest, most expensive mobile game currently, Genshin Impact is arguably the most commercially successful mobile gacha game. This expansive, open-world game is one of the most beautiful games you can install on your phone, though take note that while it runs fine on most phones with the settings turned down, it’ll make your phone cough blood if you get too ambitious with the graphical settings.
