Aside from a new black color option, ASUS told The Verge that the battery will be substantially larger wit the revised case design, and that they are looking at improvements beyond an increased capacity of 30 to 40%.

ASUS did not disclose specs but teased that the Ally X will have more than 16GB of RAM and shift to an M.2 2280 SSD, which is easier to find than the current M.2 2230 that the OG Ally uses.  The joysticks are redesigned to be interchangeable, and ASUS said that these tweaks are expected to make the Ally X heavier than its predecessor. These changes will also lead to a higher price tag as well.

ASUS will formally reveal details about the ROG Ally X on June 2, right before COMPUTEX 2024.
