Can go as deep as 82 feet
Canon’s previous waterproof PowerShots were a boon to casual divers and snorklers, but didn’t catch on to more serious divers because of their relatively shallow maximum depth. Canon’s newest entry to the tough, waterproof D line, the PowerShot D30, solves that limitation as it’s capable of going on all but the deepest of dives, being rated for depths up to 82 feet, or 25 meters. Its predecessor, the PowerShot D20, could only go as deep as 32 feet.
Canon PowerShot D30 specs
- 12.1-megapixel CMOS sensor
- 5x 28-140mm lens, f/3.9-4.8 maximum aperture
- 3-inch LCD
- GPS
While the PowerShot D30 doesn’t have WiFi or NFC, it does have GPS installed, so you can position exactly where you shot that awesome picture of Nemo’s dad.
The PowerShot D30 is expected to carry a price of $330 or roughly  Php 14,830 (before taxes and duties) when it ships mid-April in the US. No price or availability has been set for the Philippines.
