Infinix’s E-Color Shift Makes Back Panels Cool and Unique

Infinix marks its debut at CES in 2024 by introducing three new technologies for phones. We’ve heard about AirCharge and Extreme-Temp Battery as one of the innovations Infinix wants to showcase at CES 2024, but we’re surprised with the E-Color Shift technology.

So what’s the idea behind E-Color Shift? In a nutshell, Infinix thinks that phone back panels in general look boring save for a few unique options like vegan leather, and E-Color Shift aims to give you more ways to make your phone stand out.

How does it work? Infinix explains that E-Color Shift makes use of microstructures in the back panel that has color particles (which Infinix calls it as E-Ink Prism 3) that change in color by applying different voltages that affect the negative and positive charges of these particles. As a result, these color particles move and change to different colors.

Because of how it works, Infinix wants its phone users to have different “skins” for the back panel, allowing them to add another level of personalization without the added bulk of a case and without consuming additional power.

Infinix has yet to reveal when they will make its E-Color Shift tech available to the public, but we might see it on a special version of the next NOTE or ZERO device in the coming months.
