Infinix Teases AirCharge for CES 2024

After showcasing battery charging technologies like its 180w Thunder Charge (that made it to the ZERO ULTRA), 260w AllRound FastCharge, and 110w AllRound Wireless FastCharge, Infinix has teased its next innovation with AirCharge. Infinix will be revealing more details about AirCharge and Extreme-Temp Battery at CES 2024, which marks the first time Infinix will be participating in the annual conference.

Based on their global press release, AirCharge is a form of wireless charging that’s done over the air. This means that you can charge your phone without sticking it to a charging pad. OPPO and Xiaomi previously demonstrated this tech back in 2021, but neither has made it available commercially. This makes Infinix the third brand to demonstrate wireless air charging.

Infinix claims that their AirCharge tech allows users to charge their phones as far as 20cm and even at angles of up to 60 degrees. The tech delivers 7.5w charging and operates at a “safe low frequency below 6.78Mhz”. While the approach sounds similar to what OPPO demonstrated in a short video, we look forward to seeing how Infinix’s approach will be different–or even better.

The idea for wireless air charging is for users to conveniently play games or watch videos on their phones without sticking them on a charging pad.

The other innovation Infinix plans to introduce at CES 2024 is its extreme-temp battery, which it claims can charge even at temperatures as low as -40 degrees Celsius. Countries like the Philippines will not benefit from this due to our tropical weather, but it will be well-appreciated in places where the winter season means extreme temperatures of below 0 degrees Celsius.
