While it has only been months since the whole Redmi Note 12 series arrived in the Philippines, Xiaomi is gearing up for the Redmi Note 13 series in China, with a launch scheduled this month. Xiaomi kicked things off by teasing the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ with two standout features.
The first one is its processor of choice, which will utilize the Dimensity 7200-Ultra. This is a big boost compared to the Dimensity 1080 used on the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ since it is based on a newer and more efficient 4nm process and uses newer Cortex-A715 performance cores and Cortex-A510 efficiency cores. We have a rough idea of the Dimensity 7200’s performance, and we’re very impressed by how it handles demanding games with stable thermals. Xiaomi emphasized that they are using an Ultra version on the Redmi Note 13 Pro+, so it remains to be seen how this will differ from the regular version.
The other big feature of the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is its use of a 200-megapixel ISOCELL HP3 sensor, which is similar to the ISOCELL HPX used by its predecessor. Xiaomi emphasized that they have partnered with Samsung and MediaTek to offer better performance in handling 200-megapixel images. Given that the Dimensity 7200-Ultra is a more modern processor than the Dimensity 1080, we expect a significant jump in post-processing.
Xiaomi is expected to reveal more details about the rest of the Redmi Note 13 series in the coming days, so we should know the official launch soon.
