It’s not just the Redmi A1 that’s coming to the Philippines soon; a post by Xiaomi Update Philippines revealed that the Redmi Pad is set to arrive soon in the Philippines as well. In its post, Xiaomi Update Philippines revealed that only the 6GB/128GB variant of the Redmi Pad is arriving at our shores, and it will allegedly have a Php 14,999 price tag.
The pricing does make sense, as it seems that Xiaomi wants to pit the Redmi Pad against the realme Pad X, which is Php 1k more expensive. While the Redmi Pad’s Helio G99 is not as powerful as the Snapdragon 695 used on the realme Pad X and has a smaller display and slightly smaller battery, Xiaomi’s budget tablet is better than realme’s offering by having a metal unibody chassis and a 90hz display—the latter being a rarity for a budget tablet.
To recap, the Redmi Pad has a 10.61-inch 2K display with a 90hz refresh rate, 8-megapixel front and rear cameras, an 8000mAh battery with support for 18w charging, and Android 12-based MIUI for Pad. For software, Xiaomi is committing to two Android updates and three years of security updates for the Redmi Pad.
There’s no definite launch date yet for the Redmi Pad, so stay tuned for updates.
