Starting with the processor, the Galaxy Z Fold4 comes with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC paired with 12 GB of RAM and either 256 or 512 GB of internal storage. This SoC can reach up to 3.2Ghz with its Prime core.

Moving on to the rear camera, it now has a higher resolution and better optical image stabilization. The main camera has 50 megapixels with f/1.8 aperture, image stabilization, and dual pixel autofocus; the ultra-wide-angle camera has 12 megapixels with f/2.2 aperture; lastly, the telephoto camera has 10 megapixels with f/2.4 aperture and it offers optical image stabilization and phase detection autofocus.

The selfie camera is still located under the display and has 4 megapixels with f/1.8 aperture and fixed focus. If you prefer not folding out the Galaxy Z Fold4 to take selfies, you have a 10-megapixel selfie shooter that’s housed in a punch-hole on the outer display.

There are also subtle improvements with the display. The main display now has 21.6:18 aspect ratio and 2176×1812 screen resolution–but is still a Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel. Meanwhile, the outer display is still 6.2 inches or 15.75 cm diagonally and gets a slightly tweaked 23.1:9 aspect ratio, 2316×904 screen resolution, and 120 Hertz refresh rate. The change in aspect ratio makes the Galaxy Z Fold4 shorter and wider than the Galaxy Z Fold3.

As for the new hinges, they now allow users to take part in video calls whether the phone is closed or open.  These hinges, according to Samsung, were fold-tested for more than 200,000 times and showed no problems.

Samsung also added new features to the Galaxy Z Fold 4. It can now be used like a laptop, thanks to its foldable design. Moreover, multitasking is greatly improved so dealing with a large number of programs should be easy. You can now open an app on the outer display and then bring it to the inner display. You can do this for up to 3 windows.

The battery remains the same, it’s still the 4,400mAh battery with a maximum of 25 watts wired-charging capacity and 15 watts if wireless. However, due to the new and more efficient SoC, we can expect the Fold 4 to last longer than the previous version.
