Globe Expands 5G Coverage with 66 New Sites for Q1 2023

As it anticipates the increased demand for 5G with 5G-ready devices being more accessible and more affordable, Globe said that it has expanded its 5G network coverage in 2023 further, adding 66 new sites for the first quarter. The new 5G sites are set to cover 74 cities and towns nationwide, which Globe says improved its 5G coverage to 97.21% in the NCR region and 90.28% in key cities in Visayas and Mindanao.

Aside from expanding its 5G network coverage this 2023, Globe also cited good demand for its services, tallying 4.3 million devices logging into its network last March.

“Our investments on the mobile network have allowed us to maintain the excellent quality of our service to our customers. Globe continues to exert efforts to enable the lives of our customers with a network that they can fully rely on as we strive to provide them a consistent experience worthy of their patronage and loyalty,” Globe Chief Customer Experience Officer and Head of Strategy Management Rebecca Eclipse said.

Globe has made good strides when it comes to its 5G network: aside from being cited as a 5G Rising Global Star by Opensignal in September 2022, Globe is also commended for its 5G Video Experience as well by Opensignal
