Sun Cellular Launches Facebook Data Button
Sun Cellular is really stepping up their game. After declaring war on Globe Telecom with their new campaign on postpaid, they’re now launching a new product that gives their subscribers Free Facebook access via the new Facebook Data Button.
To access this new feature all you have to do is go to the upper right part of Facebook (either the app, or mobile site) and you’ll see a DATA OFF/ON switch. If you turn it to DATA OFF you get FREE ACCESS to Facebook but with limited access to photos and videos. If you turn it to DATA ON you get full access but you get charged the standard rates for data consumption.
Here’s how it should look like if you’re using Sun:
Here’s how it would look like if you’re using Smart:
What are the benefits of this new feature? Well for starters… it’s free! Hehe. It’s a great way to quickly check or update your status without having to get charged. If you’re on a tight budget and you want to maximise every peso you have with data just switch to this if you just want to quickly browse without photos or videos. It gives you more control on how you spend your data.
Service Has Already Started to Roll Out
As you can see with the screenshots above, this feature will also be accessible by Smart and TNT subscribers. We noticed though that not everyone has it already. It looks like Smart/Sun/TNT are rolling it out slowly. Hopefully this will be available to all subscribers within the week. Don’t panic if you don’t see the button on your Facebook yet! Give it a day or two. 🙂
