Aside from being the top country for online video consumption, around 95.9% of Filipinos aged 16 to 64 play online video games on their device–and that’s above the global average of 83.1%. The Philippines, however, is only number 2 in terms of online video games as Indonesia is the top country at 96.5%.

When it comes to the type of online videos consumed, around 50.7% of Filipinos watch vlogs or influencers every week, which is way bigger than the global average of 23.8%. The top type of video consumed by Filipinos is music videos at 72.7%, and this is explainable with the proliferation of multiple KPop music videos on platforms like YouTube

When it comes to social media, Meltwater’s data corroborates with data from the Electronics Hub, where the average screen time of Filipinos is 3 hours and 34 minutes–which is above the global average of 2 hours and 23 minutes. Social media is a powerful platform in the Philippines, as 60.9% of Filipinos use platforms like Instagram, Tiktok, and Facebook to learn about brands and check their content. For comparison, the global average on this metric is 48.9%.

Just like with online video consumption, around 43.9% of Filipinos follow influencers on social media, and these influencers play a factor in the decision-making of Filipinos.
