The ASUS ZenFone 11 Ultra Looks Familiar

ASUS has previously said that the ZenFone line will live on, and this is confirmed with the debut of the ZenFone 11 Ultra in Europe. This is the first time that the ZenFone line gets an Ultra branding, so we don’t know if there will be a regular ZenFone 11.

While the ZenFone 11 Ultra looks very similar to the ROG Phone 8–and even shares some components–the ZenFone 11 Ultra is meant for a more mainstream audience.

Going through the ZenFone 11 Ultra’s key specs, you do get a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, though you are limited to 12GB/256GB and 16GB/512GB variants–the 24GB/1TB variant remains exclusive to the ROG Phone 8 Pro. The ZenFone 11 Ultra’s display is similar to the ROG Phone 8 Pro, which is a 6.78-inch LTPO Full HD+ AMOLED panel. The difference is that the ZenFone 11 Ultra’ refresh rare is limited to 144hz (the ROG Phone 8 can do up to 165hz). Save for that, you also get the same 32-megapixel selfie camera as well.

The rear camera setup of the Zenfone 11 Ultra is the same as the ROG Phone 8: 50-megapixel IMX890 with ASUS’ 6-axis gimbal stabilizer for the main camera, a 13-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, and a 32-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. With the ZenFone 11 Ultra, ASUS is touting AI tricks that include Bokeh in Portrait Video Mode, Transcript in sounds, noise cancellation, call translation, and AI wallpaper.

You also get the same 5500mAh battery found on the ROG Phone 8 that supports 65w wired and 15w wireless charging. However, the ZenFone 11 Ultra only has one USB-C port and does not include a charger in the box. You do get an IP68 rating, stereo speakers, and a headphone jack–the latter being a rarity on a flagship device.

Here are the prices of the ZenFone 11 Ultra variants:

  • 12GB/256GB – 1000 Euros(~Php 61k)
  • 16GB/512GB – 1100 Euros(~Php 67k)

We asked ASUS Philippines if the ZenFone 11 Ultra is coming to the country (the last one was the tiny ZenFone 8 and the unique ZenFone 8 Flip), and we were told that there are no plans since they cater to a different market–and that the ZenFone 11 Ultra is very similar to the ROG Phone 8.
