With the Ace Pro being capable of shooting 8K video, it was simply a matter of time before Insta360 introduced more products that could do the same thing. The latest Insta360 product that’s capable of shooting 8K is the X4, which does so with 360-degree videos at 30FPS.
The X4 also increases the maximum bitrate to 200Mbps to handle the higher resolution, along with adding support for an H.265 codec. Shooting at 5.7k resolution now caps out at 60FPS, while shooting at 4K resolution is now at up to 100FPS. MaxView mode (which shoots a 170-degree FOV) now shoots in 4K60 (from 4K30), while timelapse videos now shoot at 11k.
Other enhancements include Me mode (which keeps you in the frame) outputting 4K30 clips, in-cam AI noise reduction for shooting 72-megapixel, 360-degree photos, and gesture controls. All of these new enhancements are thanks to a new 5nm AI chip powering the X4.
The X4 has a bigger 2.5-inch touchscreen that’s protected by Gorilla Glass, and both its fisheye lenses have removable lens guards to protect them. The battery is significantly bigger at 2290mAh, which is rated for 75 minutes when shooting in 8K and up to 135 minutes when shooting in 5.7K 30FPS.
The Insta360 X4 is priced at Php 30,990Â and is available in Lazada, Shopee, and Henry’s Stores nationwide.
