No need for external tracking
Samsung is also looking to jump into the mixed reality headset market it seems, according to leaks released of the company’s Windows Mixed Reality headset. Twitter user WalkingCat has posted high-quality renders of Samsung’s yet unreleased offering, which is expected to debut alongside devices from Lenovo and ASUS during Microsoft’s event next week for their Windows Mixed Reality platform.
There’s not a lot of detail about the headset, aside from the built-in headphones from AKG and motion controllers. But if it follows the same mold as other mixed reality headsets, Samsung’s offering will have built-in sensors to track your position relative to your location, which eliminates the need for active sensors that other VR headsets use. They’re also supposed to be easier to use, and offer plug-and-play functionality.

While there’s no price as of yet for Samsung’s offering, Windows Mixed-reality headsets are considerably cheaper than the ones offerd by HTC, which start at around $600 (Php 30K). Mixed-reality headsets are around $300 (Php 15K).
