The Galaxy A25 Debuts Subtle “Key Island” Design

Samsung decided to unveil some of its 2024 Galaxy A-series models before 2023 comes to a close starting with the Galaxy A25 5G. Despite having a similar design to the Galaxy A24, Samsung showcased its new “Key Island” design, where the most subtle change is with the border design on the power and volume controls to give a better grip to the phone.

Subtlety aside, the “Key Island” design appears to be functional, as it gives users better interaction with the side-mounted fingerprint scanner. This should, on paper, reduce the instance of accidentally unlocking the phone with the fingerprint scanner–but we have to see if that works in real life.

While the Galaxy A25 5G’s display is the same 6.5-inch Super AMOLED with a notch for a 13-megapixel camera, the refresh rate has been updated to 120hz. The triple rear camera setup is still the same–50-megapixel main with OIS, 8-megapixel ultra-wide, and 2-megapixel macro–and the other big upgrade on the Galaxy A25 5G is its use of an Exynos 1280 processor. The 5G-ready processor should offer significantly better performance over the Helio G99 used on the Galaxy A24.

The Galaxy A25 5G is priced at VND 6,590,000 (~Php 15.1k), roughly the same price as the Galaxy A24 at launch. We expect Samsung to bring the Galaxy A25 to the Philippines soon, so stay tuned to the site for updates.
