The Sony A9 III is the Fastest Full-Frame Camera in the Market

Sony celebrates the 10th anniversary of the A7 full-frame mirrorless camera with the A9 III.

As it pushes innovation further, Sony claims that they have solved rolling shutter issues with the A9 III through its global shutter image sensor. This new design also makes the A9 III crazy fast, capable of shooting images at up to 120FPS without any blackouts and distortions.

The A9 III maximizes that shooting speed with real-time autofocus thanks to Sony’s dedicated AI processing unit. This also allows the A9 III to have an equally insane maximum shutter speed of 1/80000 (up to 1/16000 when shooting continuously), making it a dream camera for action and sports photographers.

Granted that the sensor is just 24.6 megapixels, the A9 III is a camera that will make sure that you don’t miss any shots. Want the highest resolution? The A9 III can shoot 14-bit RAW photos at up to 120fps with a 1.6-second buffer, which translates to a burst shooting of 180 RAW photos before you fill-up the buffer.

If that’s not enough, the A9 III also has a Pre-capture mode that records a second worth of images before pressing the shutter, and a Speed Boost to utilize its maximum 120FPS burst shooting as needed.

The A9 III is also great for video, being able to shoot 10-bit 4:2:2 All-I, 16-bit RAW output, S-Cinetone and S-Log3 at up to 4K60p with 6K oversampling. It’s also worth noting that the A9 III can shoot 4K/120p without any cropping.

For the design, Sony made the front grip more ergonomic, along with a “more responsive” shutter button and a four-axis LCD touchscreen. There’s also a new C5 button that you can map, along with a lock function for the drive mode dial.

The A9 III is priced at $5999 or around Php 337k when converted.
