The unveiling of the Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro is a significant moment for the brand as it is the first time that the T series get Leica branding (well, at least in most regions around the world) for its cameras. This gives users more options for Xiaomi’s premium devices: either go for their top-end 13 series or settle for the more affordable 13T series.

The price difference between the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13T is Php 7,000. Both phones have Leica-branded cameras, but which is the better option if your priority is camera performance? It’s a close fight between both of Xiaomi’s premium devices, but DxOMark thinks that the more affordable Xiaomi 13T Pro has better cameras than the Xiaomi 13.

Looking through how DxOMark reviewed both phones, the Xiaomi 13T performed better than the Xiaomi 13 with its cameras because the former uses a physically larger sensor for the main camera. The Xiaomi 13 trumped its more affordable sibling in the zoom test because its telephoto camera offers a longer 3.2x optical zoom range and OIS for blur-free shots.

Beyond cameras, the Xiaomi 13T Pro is a better buy because you can opt for 1TB storage at Php 40k or Php 5k less than the asking price of the Xiaomi 13, along with a bigger battery that supports 120w charging. Despite those advantages, the Xiaomi 13 has its own pros: you get wireless charging, and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is still a better flagship chip than the Xiaomi 13T Pro’s Dimensity 9200+. Aside from that, the Xiaomi 13 is one of the few compact flagship phones you can buy in the Philippines.
