Epson’s New App Aims To Verify Genuine Inks

In its push to encourage its customers to only buy genuine ink for their printers, Epson has rolled out a mobile app that verifies the authenticity of inks purchased by its customers. The app is available for both iOS and Android users and is designed to protect customers from counterfeit inks that can damage printers and void warranties.

“We are dedicated to providing our customers with the highest quality products and services,” Epson Philippines President Masako Kusama said. “The launch of the Epson Genuine Ink PH app demonstrates our commitment to protecting our customers and ensuring they have the best possible quality prints.”

Epson advises its customers to check the hologram sticker placed on the side of its genuine ink boxes. The hologram sticker has a QR code that can be scanned through the Epson Genuine Ink App to verify its authenticity. Aside from verifying the authenticity of genuine inks, the app allows users to report of they suspect they have purchased counterfeit inks.

The hologram stickers have two unique features: a temperature-sensitive element on the blue “genuine” section of the sticker, and an Epson branding that only appears when light hits the silver portions of the hologram sticker. Aside from that, the ink box has a color-shifting label that changes colors when tilted.

Epson encourages customers to purchase Genuine Ink only from authorized dealers and official online stores. By doing so, customers can enjoy the benefits of genuine Epson inks, including high-quality prints, reliable performance, and protection under Epson’s warranty.
