OPPO A98 Coming Soon: Curved Display On A Midrange Phone?

The OPPO A98 is making rounds on the internet after being made official on China’s TENAA certification outlet. It seems to be packing quite a lot of features and could just be a midrange showstopper. Here’s what we know so far.

It currently holds the model number PHQ110 and is rumored to have a 6.7-inch curved AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and in-display fingerprint scanner. Refresh rate might just be 120Hz, although 90Hz would be perfectly fine with us. We’re glad to see curved display technology come to the midrange at this point, after it made an appearance with the Infinix ZERO Ultra just last month. There are currently debates on whether or not curved displays are a pro or a con when it comes to real-world usability, but that’s a discussion for another day.

The confirmed processor is an eight-core chipset which peg might just be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695. Considering the OPPO A97 had a Dimensity 810, this would be a decent jump – although we’d be more than happy to be proven wrong with a more powerful option.

Other notable specifications include a 108-megapixel main sensor at the rear, a 16-megapixel shooter in front, up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. We’ll keep you posted on more updates for the OPPO A98.
