SeeAudio Releases IEM Yume Midnight: Tuned By Audiophile Crinacle

When it comes to serious music listeners, audio quality comes first and foremost. As of now, it is common knowledge among the high-fidelity (hi-fi) music space that wired devices tend to deliver better quality than their wireless counterparts, due to the latter experiencing audio compression. Enter the SeeAudio Yume, a premium In-Ear Monitor (IEM) for those who want to elevate their sonic experience. This isn’t just the normal Yume though. The SeeAudio Yume Midnight version gets further tweaks and improvements in tuning by none other than Crinacle, an audiophile very respected in the high-end space who also runs the In-Ear Fidelity site. This product is available exclusively on HiFiGO.

Much like the original Yume, this keeps the case, detachable cables, and other physical characteristics. You also get 5 different sizes for ear tips depending on which ones fit your ear the best, which is a welcome step over the original Yume’s 3. The monitors themselves still feature the LSD (Liquid Silicone Diaphragm) drivers that allow these to perform to the same standards regardless of changes in temperature. The LSD also works to keep the bass controlled and prevent it from bleeding into the melodic frequencies, which SeeAudio claims will create enough separation between the two.

Crinacle, who has tested audio gear from the mainstream to top-of-the-line setups over his decade of experience has also participated in the tuning of the midnight. He was overall satisfied with the original Yume, but commented on its lack of technical performance.

With the Yume Midnight, the collaboration seeks to resolve these issues. The IEM was overhauled by design changes to the cavity, nozzle, filters, and drivers. The cable has also been upgraded to a 5N-OCC silver-plated copper cable with better durability. This now adheres to the Harman Target Curve, the gold standard for how premium audio products should sound, much better than the original.

The goal here was to improve an already good IEM and milk out as much performance out of its 2+1 driver setup. Hopefully, they were able to achieve it. The SeeAudio Yume Midnight tuned by Crinacle will be available for purchase on January 15, exclusively at the HiFiGO website.
