As one of the leaders of 5G connectivity in the Philippines, Smart was recognized by Opensignal on several key aspects of 5G connectivity based on their October 2023 report. The list of 5G-related awards Smart received from Opensignal include 5G Download Speed, 5G Upload Speed, 5G Coverage Experience, 5G Availability, and Overall Download Speed Experience.

In Opensignal’s report, Smart beats Globe in 5G download and upload speeds with an average of 139.2Mbps and 12Mbps respectively. While Smart’s lead in upload speeds is very close to Globe, it boasts a large 44.7Mbps lead in download speeds. Smart is also the leader in 5G availability, where 13% of its users spend their time with an active 5G connection. Globe users, on the other hand, spend 10.7% of their time with an active 5G connection.
Outside of its excellent performance with 5G, Smart also takes the lead in download speed experience at 27.2Mbps. DITO placed second in this metric at 25.8Mbps, while Globe is in a distant third at 17.7Mbps.
