If you don’t fancy any of the sleeves or cases being offered by various companies for your tablet or laptop you can opt to have one made by a leatherworker or tailor. One of the best people for the job is PhilMUG’s PowerPee. I’ve been getting sleeves from him since my first MacBook Air two years ago and I also bought one for my first generation iPad. When I got my MacBook Pro (2011) and iPad 2, I gave PowerPee a call again and here’s what he was able to make for me.
For MacBook Pro (13″): Dark Brown Suede envelope type sleeve
For the iPad 2: Dark Brown Suede manila envelope style
These sleeves are gorgeous. Note though that this doesn’t give the best protection for your gadgets. This has no foam so it can only keep your devices safe from minor bumps and scratches. It’s best to still have a proper bag and you just insert the laptop inside the sleeve in it. In fact… this would look awesome inside the Saddleback Leather Satchel, hehe.
For the MacBook Pro (13″) sleeve it cost Php1,200. The iPad 2 sleeve cost Php1,000. To order and to view what else he can make, check out PowerPee’s group at PhilMUG.
