AMD Unveils Radeon RX 7800XT, 7700XT for 1440p Gaming

AMD expands its Radeon RX 700 series of GPUs with the unveiling of the RX 7700XT and RX 7800XT at Gamescom 2023. Both GPUs are geared towards 1440p gaming, where AMD promises at least 60FPS on the latest titles at the said resolution. Both GPUs are meant to slot in between the RX 7900 series and RX 7600.

To differentiate between the two GPUs, the RX 7700XT has 54 Compute units that are based on AMD’s RDNA3 architecture, along with 12GB GDDR6 memory, 192-bit memory interface, 48MB of AMD’s Infinity Cache, and a 245W TDP. The RX 7800XT, on the other hand, comes with 60 Compute units, 16GB GDDR6 memory, 256-bit memory interface, 64MB Infinity Cache, and a 263W TDP. The former aims to position itself against NVIDIA’s RTX 4060Ti 16GB, while the latter is made to go head-to-head against the RTX 4070 12GB.

Other features of both GPUs include 2nd-gen Ray Tracing, AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution, and HYPR-RX. The latter combines the use of Radeon Boost, Anti-Lag+, and Super Resolution to further elevate gaming performance at 1440p resolution. There’s also support for AV1 codecs and AI noise suppression as well.

The Radeon RX 7700XT starts at $449(~Php 26k), while the RX 7800XT starts at $499(~Php 29k). It will be available starting September 6. Those purchasing either GPU will get a copy of Starfield with their purchase.
