These Sunglasses are a Stylish Way to Listen to Your Fave Music

Smart glasses have been a thing for a while: who can’t forget those smart glasses that Huawei and Gentle Monster had in 2019? There are also those Ray-Ban Meta glasses that have a built-in camera for capturing POV-style footage. JBL is the latest to have its own set of Smart Glasses with the Soundgear Frames, and they are probably the most affordable of their kind to date.

Designed to be a pair of sunglasses (but you can change the lenses into prescription ones), the Soundgear Frame has a clear plastic body with metal hinges and the temples hiding its trick upon its sleeve: ultra-thin, semi-open speakers that use JBL’s OpenSound technology in producing natural sound with minimal sound leakage.

Despite their extremely thin design, the Soundgear Frames have an adjustable equalizer with its 6 preset curves that can be adjusted through the JBL Headphones app. They connect to your device wirelessly, and JBL promises around 8 hours on a single charge with them. A quick 10-minute charge via its two USB-C ports allows you to use them for a good two hours.

Being a pair of smart glasses, JBL also designed them for hands-free calls with their built-in 2-mic array with noise cancellation for clear voice calls. You also get different style options for the Soundgear Frames: Round or Square frames, and three different color options that include Onyx, Pearl, and Amber.

JBL is asking Php 9,499 for the Soundgear Frames, making them one of the most affordable audio-focused smart glasses in the market. Now if you’re in the market for a new phone as well, the Soundgear Frames will be bundled with the upcoming HONOR 200 series as part of their pre-order promo.
