With the OnePlus 10T arriving soon in the Philippines as the first phone to be officially sold under OnePlus Philippines, the phone generated controversy as it catastrophically snapped in half in Jerryrigeverything’s durability test. The OnePlus 10T appeared to have the same structural issue as the nPro model, which is right under the camera island. Despite looking different, it appears that they have the same frame design–and possibly the same structural integrity issues.

Of course, videos that are this tragic will do damage to OnePlus’ reputation, and it did not take that long until they have responded to what happened to the 10T in Jerryrigeverything’s video. As a response to the now-viral video that revealed the catastrophic fate of the 10T, the brand sent this statement to Gadgets360:

The OnePlus 10T has an enhanced structure engineering design and can bear over 45kg of external force in this test at OnePlus’ lab. When designing, engineering, and manufacturing OnePlus devices, we ensure they not only offer a design that is beautiful and burdenless but is also durable so they can withstand everyday usage.

Given that both the 10 Pro and 10T appear to have the same structural issue, and that Zack (of Jerryrigeverything) is known for pushing the durability of devices to the extremes, we hope that OnePlus steps up its design process for its phones.
