Twitter Mixed Media Feature Now Live: GIFs, Pics, And Vids In One Tweet

Twitter has been unveiling new features left and right as of late. Some have even inferred that this is the reason why Elon Musk decided to proceed with his acquisition of the company. Regardless, let us introduce its latest addition: Twitter Mixed Media.

What is this exactly? To put it short, it’s a new way for users of the application to express their creativity and passions. With Twitter Mixed Media, users can now upload pictures, videos, and GIFs – all in the same Tweet! This removes the need for creating threads just to publish various forms of media and the like.

Despite its perceived simplicity, many users have found ways to showcase how this feature can open up a pathway toward new content. Check out this side-by-side image of a vibrant concert image, and next to it is a video clip of the concert itself. It adds a bit of immersion to the photo by showing you the sounds and the crowd without having to scroll down.

This feature feels like it was a long time coming anyway. For now, Twitter Mixed Media uploading capabilities are available for users on iOS and Android, although these can be viewed by users on all platforms.

When you consider that this feature was released in close proximity to the launch of an Edit Tweet button, Twitter Circle inspired by Instagram Close Friends, as well as a TikTok-like personalized video feed, you would understand that the company is doubling down on its efforts to stay relevant. This is essentially the wishlist of Twitter users for the longest time now, all coming to life simultaneously.
