We Take A Closer Look At The realme TechLife Air Purifier

While realme is a brand that’s known for its phones and budget TWS earbuds, it’s fast-expanding into other product categories, specifically ones meant for the home as well. Their newest product, the realme TechLife Air Purifier, is targeted at people who want to keep the air around their home nice and clean, which is especially important nowadays, because of the whole global pandemic/plague going on. The brand actually sent us a sample unit to take a look at, so let’s take a look at how the device looks and how to set it up in your room.

The packaging for the TechLife Air Purifier is pretty bare-bones – the large-ish unit ships in a plain carton box with its name printed on the front. There’s not a lot of things inside that box either – just the purifier itself plus a user manual. The HEPA filter already comes pre-installed inside.

Speaking of the filter, the HEPA H12 filter can filter air particles with a diameter of 0.3um and above, including PM2.5, animal dander, dust, pollen, hair, and other allergens. It also has a built-in Japanese Sharp air quality detector and a 3-layer filtration structure.

Setup is relatively easy, as you simply have to remove the plastic that the HEPA filter comes in (the steps are easy to follow and are detailed in the manual). Most of the controls are on the top, and the device has easy-to-read LED lights that give you a quick indication of the current air quality. Green is good, yellow is moderate while red is bad.

Using the TechLife Air Purifier is pretty easy – just turn it on and select the fan speed (we usually kept it on auto) and you’re good to go. There’s a night mode available here as well that shifts speed to low and turns off the LED indicators so it won’t distract you from sleeping.

realme says that their new purifier can easily purify a 30m³ room in around 14.4 minutes, though they recommend that you close the doors and windows of that room to keep the air inside fresh. The filter, which is easily user-replaceable, lasts around 2800 hours and the company will be selling spares just in case. An indicator light goes off when it’s time to swap filters.

Probably the only downside here is that the realme TechLife Air Purifier isn’t WiFi-enabled, so you can’t really monitor the air quality levels or turn it off/on via your phone, but that’s a small issue, especially when you consider that it has an affordable Php 5,990 price tag in the Philippines.

The realme TechLife Air Purifier has a price tag of P5,990 in the Philippines. It is already available on Lazada and it will be on Shopee starting August 7, 2021. realme is cutting the price of the TechLife Air Purifier, by Php 1,000 off until August 12, so you can get this awesome device for just Php 4,990!
