HONOR X6a Appears in UK with 90hz Display

With almost all of the HONOR X-series getting an updated -a variant (the most prominent in the Philippines being the X9a 5G), the entry-level X6 gets the same treatment as the X6a, which appeared in the UK.

Being an entry-level offering, what makes the X6a special is that its 6.56-inch HD+ TFT display has a 90hz refresh rate, which is slowly becoming a now-common feature on entry-level phones lately. Powering the X6a is a Helio G36 processor, which is a modest upgrade over the Helio G25 used on the non-a model. It comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

The other improvement on the X6a is with the battery, where you get a slightly larger 5200mAh cell that supports 22.5w wired charging–the non-a model is capped at 10w. Like its predecessor, you also get a 50-megapixel main camera that’s paired with two 2-megapixel cameras, along with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and 5-megapixel front camera. Software is taken care of by Android 13-based MagicOS 7.1.

Overall, you get decent upgrades on the HONOR X6a compared to its predecessor, but its at 130 Pounds (~Php 9.2k). might sound expensive. However, that’s European pricing, and there’s a good chance that it might be lower when it arrives in Asian markets including the Philippines.
