Would you buy this clamshell phone?
LG has announced their Ice Cream Smart, their second modern smartphone to sport a clamshell form factor that was in vouge back in the early 2000’s. The Ice Cream Smart may look like a throwback to the past, but it’s throughly rooted in the future – it has Android 4.4 KitKat, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage and LTE connectivity.
LG Ice Cream Smart specs
- 1.2GHz quad-core CPU
- 1GB of RAM
- 3.5-inch HVGA LCD display, 480 × 320 resolution
- 8GB of storage, expandable via microSD up to 32GB
- 8-megapixel rear camera
- VGA front camera
- 3G, LTE
- WiFi, Bluetooth, DMB TV
- 1,700mAh battery
- Android 4.4 KitKat
As you’d expect, the phone has a rather small 3.5-inch HVGA display and is powered by a 1700mAh battery. The rear camera is a 8-megapixel deal while the front one is VGA. Like Sharp and its clamshell smartphone, the Ice Cream Smart is a device that may never step on other markets aside from Korea, though ultimately that decision falls on LG themselves.
