Project Andromeda lives on
As Samsung and Huawei revealed their plans for a foldable device in 2019, Microsoft is also working on their own foldable device with project Andromeda. This was revealed in a book entitled “Beneath a Surface”, written by journalist and Microsoft tech blog Thurrot.com collaborator Brad Sams.
While we haven’t heard about the said project for a while, the rumored device is said to surprise everyone when it launches in 2019.
Like Samsung’s implementation, Microsoft’s Andromeda is basically a tablet that transforms into a smartphone when folded. The rumored device will run on a full version of Windows, though expect Microsoft to make some tweaks to it.
Aside from Andromeda, the book mentions upcoming products like a new XBox One console, AMD-Powered Surface Laptops, an updated Surface Studio, and a new tablet geared to compete against Apple’s iPad Pro.
