And it has a notch that’s bigger than the Pixel 3 XL
While smartphone brands push for triple cameras, most of these utilize the setup for the rear cameras. The Honor Magic 2 is one of the few that boasts of a triple front camera setup—comprising of a 16-megapixel primary camera and two 2-megapixel depth sensors.
However, selfie smartphone brand Meitu—who recently inked a strategic partnership with Xiaomi—has a rather unusual phone, sporting its trademark hexagonal design, three front cameras, and a notch that is bigger than the one found on the Pixel 3 XL.Â
Carrying the model name MP1801, the strange-looking phone’s front camera setup consists of three modules: 20-megapixel, 12-megapixel, and 8-megapixel. While the TENAA listing does not indicate their respective functions, we assume that one of them is a wide-angle camera.
The MP1801 has 12-megapixel + 8-megapixel rear cameras, and two sets of LED flashes on either side. As for the internals, TENAA reports that it has a 6.21-inch Full HD+ OLED display, a hexa-core processor, 8GB RAM, and 128GB/256GB of internal storage.
There’s no word if this Meitu phone will go into production, but our guess is that Xiaomi might give this awfully-designed phone an overhaul and give it a less edgy look.
