After 13 years of giving customers great deals ranging from spa and wellness treatments, to travel and accommodation, eCommerce website MetroDeal announced that it is closing its operations permanently by May 31. 

“As we prepare to close the doors of an incredible chapter na nagsimula noong 2011, we find ourselves filled with a deep sense of gratitude and a touch of sadness,” MetroDeal said in its announcement.

With this announcement, MetroDeal said that users can still purchase deals on their site until May 15, while all vouchers purchased through the platform can be redeemed until their expiration dates. As for user accounts, MetroDeal said that they can still access them and contact customer service until December 31.

Customer support will be available via phone, Messenger, email, etc. until May 31. From June 1 until December 31, all customer support will be handled via email.

“As we say goodbye, we want you to know that each click, each purchase, and each smile has been truly appreciated. Though our paths may diverge, the memories we’ve created together will always resonate,” MetroDeal said in their closing statement.

Those who have used MetroDeal will remember the platform as the go-to place for buying value-for-money deals, packages, services, and goods through discounted vouchers. While its business model was a great idea in terms of getting great deals, the rise of other platforms have decreased MetroDeal’s relevance to Filipinos.
