Microsoft is Done with Major Windows 10 Updates

If you are still stubborn with upgrading to Windows 11, here’s a GOOD reason to do so: after announcing that it will end support for Windows 7 and 8.1 for good early this year, Microsoft is done with Windows 10 major updates and announced that version 22H2 will be the LAST and final version of Windows 10.

Starting next year, Windows 10 will only receive monthly security updates until October 14, 2025, when Microsoft plans to end its support for Windows 10.

Those with long-term servicing channel (LTSC) releases will get updates beyond the said end of support of date, but Microsoft did not specify how many years of additional support LTSC releases will get.

With this development, Microsoft highly encourages its users to make the transition to Windows 11 since Windows 10 will no longer get new features after the 22H2 update. Considering that Windows 10 has been in the market since 2015, this shows that the OS is showing its age–and that it’s an impending end of another era.

On the flip side, this move is also one way Microsoft can convince its users to Windows 11, which has been in the market for over a year.
