After it was unveiled globally last June 19, OPPO Philippines has confirmed that the Reno12 5G series will arrive in the Philippines on July 12. Consisting of the standard Reno12 5G and Reno12 Pro 5G, both phones level up OPPO’s Portrait Expert identity with its utilization of next-generation AI technology.

Headlining its slew of AI features is an upgraded AI Eraser 2.0 feature that can seamlessly remove unwanted photobombers–on top of improved accuracy for its Smart Lasso and Paint Over options that first appeared on the Reno11 5G series last April. New to the Reno12 5G series is AI studio, an app that lets you transform any photo of yourself into your digital avatar.

Aside from the AI features, you’re getting great camera hardware as well: the standard Reno12 5G comes with a 50-megapixel LYT600 main camera with OIS, while the Reno12 Pro 5G adds a 50-megapixel 2x portrait camera.

When it comes to selfies, you are getting very capable hardware: a 32-megapixel shooter on the Reno12 5G and a higher-resolution 50-megapixel shooter on the Reno12 Pro 5G. Both phones also utilize the latest AI Portrait capabilities that include Portrait Mode, Natural Tone, and autofocusing.

Aside from photography, OPPO is utilizing AI for better connectivity with AI LinkBoost for the Reno12 5G series. Both models utilize a 360-degree surround antenna solution that consists of nine antennas that work together to provide good connectivity in all scenarios. You also get BeaconLink, which enhances Bluetooth uplink by as much as 300% to improve the working distance to up to 200 meters–double what usual Bluetooth connections have to offer.  

As for the design, both models of the Reno12 5G series feature a spacecraft-inspired and metallic design to give a futuristic appeal while maintaining a classic look. The standard Reno12 5G will come in Astro Silver, Sunset Pink, and Matte Brown, while the Pro model will come in Nebula Silver and Space Brown.
