You’ll Be Able To Get NVIDIA 40 Series GPUs On Laptops This Year

Just like clockwork NVIDIA has officially introduced RTX 40 series GPUs in laptops that promise huge leaps in performance that give laptop enjoyers desktop-grade gaming experiences. NVIDIA promises that laptop versions of their high-end RTX 4090 and 4080 GPUs are powerful enough to be able to play games across 3 4K monitors at 60 frames per second.

NVIDIA isn’t just giving people with deep pockets all the fun though, as the company claims that even their RTX 4070, 4060, and 4050 GPUs in laptops are more powerful than the RTX 3080 in slates today, which is quite a claim, and something we’re interested in validating once we get sample devices from laptop partners like ASUS and ACER.

Despite those performance advancements, NVIDIA is promising that these new laptop GPUs will be able to keep power consumption down thanks to the efficiency gains that they’ve achieved with the Ada Lovelace architecture. All the software goodies that desktop RTX 40 series owners also apply to the laptop version of the GPU, including DLSS 3 AI upscaling, efficient ray-tracing performance, and more.

If you want a laptop with NVIDIA’s monster flagship RTX 4090 and 4080 GPUs, you’ll have to wait until next month, though they are pretty pricey, with laptop models starting at $1,999 (Php 111,790) and that’s without taxes and shipping factored in. RTX 4050 laptops meanwhile will start shipping in the US by Feb. 22, with a starting price of just $999 (Php 55.8K) but again, without taxes or shipping factored in. Expect all the usual suspects like ASUS, ACER, Lenovo, and other brands to start announcing their RTX 40-series equipped laptops later today now that NVIDIA has let the cat out of the bag.
