COMPUTEX 2024 has concluded, and while the 3-day convention gave heavy emphasis on AI, there are a few devices that caught our attention. After checking out all the devices we spotted at COMPUTEX 2024, here are our top 5 picks:

ASUS ROG Ally X

Amidst the plethora of announcements ASUS had during COMPUTEX 2024, the main highlight has to be the ROG Ally X, which made several tweaks to ASUS’ popular gaming handheld. While the processor is still the same Ryzen Z1 Extreme, ASUS packed a significantly larger 80wHr battery inside the Ally X, which should promise double the battery life compared to its predecessor.

ASUS made some tweaks to the buttons and joysticks to improve the Ally X’s ergonomics, and ASUS ditched the XG Mobile port for another Thunderbolt 4 USB-C port for better connectivity options. The Ally X has more RAM and storage and uses an M.2 2280 SSD for easier upgradability down the line.

 

Acer SpatialLabs Eyes Camera

We’re unsure if glasses-free 3D will go mainstream, but Acer imagines the possibilities with the SpatialLabs Eyes camera. This stereoscopic camera has two 8-megapixel sensors to produce 3D content, and its main goal is to allow users to do live streams and video calls in full 3D glory.

Picture this: having your Google Meet, Zoom, and Microsoft Team calls in 3D can bring in several new possibilities, and 3D YouTube live streams can become a reality for content creators.

 

MSI Claw 8 AI+

While MSI has a cool Fallout Edition for the current Claw, what got us more excited is the upcoming Claw 8 AI+, which was spotted behind a glass case at MSI’s booth at COMPUTEX 2024. It will be powered by Intel’s upcoming Lunar Lake chips that have the RAM integrated into the CPU and promise as much as 50% better GPU performance than the Meteor Lake chips powering the current Claw.

Other interesting upgrades to the Claw 8 AI+ include a bigger 8-inch 120hz display, two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, a beefier 80wHr battery, and a switch to an M.2 2280 SSD for easier storage upgrades.

 

ASUS ZenBook S 16

This is the second time that ASUS made a 16-inch ZenBook, and we like how slim and light the S 16 is at 1.5kg and 1.1cm respectively. It has the same design language as the current ZenBooks, but ASUS makes use of its new Ceraluminum material to make the ZenBook S 16 light and durable.

You get a nice 120hz OLED display and a 6-speaker system with the ZenBook S 16, along with a healthy port selection that includes a full-sized SD card slot.

 

XPG Nia

Looks like we will be seeing more gaming handhelds in the future, and the XPG Nia is the most unique one at the COMPUTEX 2024 show floor. Aside from having upgradable storage like most gaming handhelds, you can upgrade the RAM on the Nia with its use of LPCAMM2 memory, making it great for upgrading in the future.

XPG is also allowing everyone to mod the Nia through 3D printing parts, and the Nia stands out for its display that you can adjust for better gaming ergonomics.
