The specs of the Liquid X1 won’t really blow you away, as it’s basically what we’ve been seeing in local brands since the start of the year. There is one thing that makes the X1 stand out from the glut of octa-core devices in the local marketplace of course – LTE. The Liquid X1 is one of the first, if not the first MediaTek octa-core powered smartphones that we’ve seen so far. The first was the Alcatel One Pop S7, but that ran with a quad-core processor instead of an octa-core one.
Aside from the LTE side, the Liquid X1 also has a nice feature that allows you to use the huge 5.7-inch smartphone one handed by resizing the display to something that’s more akin to a 4-inch smartphone. You can drag the resized display anywhere on the screen, which is a godsend for people with small hands who are looking to use the Liquid X1.
Another feature of the Liquid X1 is that it has a camera re-focus mode that allows you to change the focus of the camera after you’ve taken the shot, much like the one on the Samsung Galaxy S5. During our brief time with it it really didn’t blow us away with its refocusing prowess, but only a full review of the device will determine if it really does work as advertised.
