Canalys Q3 2022 Philippines: realme Still on Top, vivo Rises to 2nd Place

realme continues to maintain its dominance in the Philippines yet again, while vivo exhibited the biggest annual growth  based on the Q3 2022 report of Canalys. Looking through the top 5 brands, realme is the top brand in the Philippines with 19% of the market share, while second placer vivo took 17% of the market share.

Both OPPO and Transsion (Infinix, TECNO, itel) are tied at 16% of the market share, while Samsung rounds up the top 5 with 13% of the market share.

realme was able to maintain its lead in the Philippines despite a shrinking annual growth because of its entry-level C-series phones and the sales performance of its tablets–which consist of the Pad, Pad Mini, and Pad X. There’s also realme’s surprise move with the entry of the upper mid-range GT Neo3 to the Philippines.

As for vivo, their climb to second place can be credited to its diverse Y-series line that consists of the Y16 and Y35, along with the positive reception for its X80 series. As for Transsion group, they still posted a laudable 79% annual growth despite slipping off to 4th place, and this can be credited to the positive reception for Infinix’s Note 12 and 12 Pro 5G series.

Overall, the Q3 2022 report of Canalys shows that the smartphone market in the Philippines is promising, and that competition is stiffer than ever. Its global report further confirms this, as the Philippines and India helped stabilize smartphone sales in the Asia-Pacific region.
